The Biggest Companies That Accept Crypto Right Now

There’s been a lot of buzz lately about big corporations like Square and Tesla buying large amounts of crypto for their balance sheet. Additionally, many companies have been dropping lines about their intentions to allow crypto payments in the future in order to boost their share price today. But the companies on this list actually put their fiat where their mouth is and are accepting crypto today for their goods and services – at the very least that makes them worth considering giving them your patronage.

#1 Donate to Wikipedia with Crypto

They say you aren't supposed to use Wikipedia as a source for your school work, but who hasn't been there? Personally we've had many caffeine-induced, late nights furiously scouring the internet for essay content only to wave the white flag and settle on Wikipedia.

Not to mention the endless rabbit holes you can go on down on literally millions of subjects.

Whatever reason you may use Wikipedia, you can now give back and make donations to Wikipedia with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum.

And although Wikipedia mentions on their site that they do not store cryptocurrency (assumingly immediately liquidating to fiat, yawn), it's still a step in the right direction for the largest online encyclopedia on earth.

#2 Litecoin is the official cryptocurrency of the Miami Dolphins

Many of the articles floating around on this topic tend to focus on Bitcoin, but this entry is for all our #TeamLitecoin folks.

Back in mid-2019, NFL football team the Miami Dolphins made Litecoin their officially cryptocurrency.

What does this mean?

You can now purchase game tickets and participate in their 50/50 raffle using Litecoin courtesy of AliantPayment. Alrighty then!

#3 The Dallas Mavericks Dig Dogecoin

2021 has certainly started off as the year of the Doge and one of Doge's biggest fans is none other than Mr. Shark Tank Mark Cuban.

Cuban, who owns the Dallas Mavericks, has been filling his timeline with many pro-Doge tweets of late. Notably, Cuban's Dallas Mavericks will now accept Dogecoin as a method of payment for their ball game tickets and merchandise.

Cuban was recently quoted as saying, "As long as more companies take doge for products/services, then Doge can be a usable currency,”

He has certainly taken the lead on this quote and many Doge fans rejoiced.

#4 AT&T

In mid-2019 the communications giant announced that they will not accept online bill payment through BitPay. BitPay currently supports Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, XRP and Dogecoin.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve and expand our services,” said Kevin McDorman, vice president, AT&T Communications Finance Business Operations. “We have customers who use cryptocurrency, and we are happy we can offer them a way to pay their bills with the method they prefer.”

Hey Verizon, can you hear us now? Your move!

#5 Newegg is an OG crypto supporter.

Sure it may be chic and cool for companies to accept crypto as payment now, but you may not know that the popular computer/software retail giant Newegg has been accepting crypto as early as 2014.

Back in 2014 their CMO had this to say:
"Our customers have been reaching out to us on Facebook and Twitter asking for us to accept bitcoin,”

Skip to today and Newegg accepts more than just Bitcoin. At the time of this writing you can purchase from their vast offerings using Bitcoin, BCH, Ethereum, Doge and a few other stable coins.

Ironically, you can now overpay for a GPU using the very currency that is currently causing the ridiculous prices. Yay!

#6 The House That Bitcoin Built

Thanks to Home Depot now accepting Bitcoin through the Flexa app, you can now quite literally build your house with Bitcoin.

Home Depot is the biggest home improvement store in the United States and one of the biggest companies in the world sporting over 100 billion in top line revenue in 2020.

Although you can't quite pay directly with Bitcoin yet, these intermediary apps are a great first step in Bitcoin take over the worl..erm.. becoming mass adopted!

What do you think?
