If you like half-naked, meaty men and crypto, then boy do we have some news for you! That’s right, you guessed it, the sport of bodybuilding is joining forces with crypto and bringing new meaning to the word “gainz”.
Okay, okay, I know what you’re thinking; this has to be good to be true, right? I mean let’s face it, I know when I’m watching 300lb men in speedos, show off their heavily spray-tanned muscles, I’m thinking to myself, “how could this get any better?” — the answer? Crypto!
Crypto company “FitBurn” becomes the first cryptocurrency company to partner with the Mr. Olympia weekend.
In all seriousness, this collaboration isn’t as silly as the opening paragraph makes it out to be and truth be told, we got no quarrel with bodybuilding. In fact, as you may have guessed, “FitBurn” is a fitness company, so the crossover isn’t that strange.
Where does crypto fit in?
FitBurn describes itself as a fitness-focused app that rewards its users for performing regular fitness activities. Using your smartwatch, the FitBurn app, and a little discipline, users can earn tokens known as “CAL” tokens (for calories, get it), which they can then hodl, trade, or even cash in for prizes like supplements, discounts, and much more.

So, what is the Mr. Olympia weekend?
Well, it’s the largest bodybuilding event in the world and serves as a platform to showcase the best of the best when it comes to bodybuilding. Held annually, this event features the best that professional bodybuilding has to offer with different weight divisions, gender-specific contests, and meet and greets between events. Mr. Olympia was started in 1965 and is now in its 54th year.
Some notable Mr. Olympia winners include eight-time winner Ronnie Coleman, four-time winners Arnold Schwarzenegger and Phil Heath, three-time winner Jay Cutler, and current champion “Big Ramy”.
The Mr. Olympia weekend runs December 15th thru the 18th and you can find more details at MrOlympia.com.
The collab’
According to the official press release, this partnership will allow FitBurn to collaborate with the biggest names in fitness. Additionally, we imagine their logo and website will be visible during the telecast, allowing those of us at home doing shadow punches while we watch, to funnel that excitement into the app, and get started.
In closing
We’ll file this news entry under the “any exposure is good exposure for crypto” and keep our eyes on how the project does long term. You can find out more about the app and the token by visiting fitburn.io.
Until next time, “their ain’t nothing to it, but to do it” – Ronnie Coleman
